Zain started his career as a model. He modeled for top brands like Aldo, Reebok, and McDowell’s No. 1. Eventually he shifted to acting, and we all know what a star he has become.

Imam's acting debut came with MTV India's "Kaisi Yeh Yaariaan," where he portrayed Abhimanyu Thakkar; this gave him an immense fan following among youth.

However, his portrayal of Yuvraj "Yuvi" Luthra in Zee TV's "Tashan-e-Ishq" brought him commercial success and nationwide fame.

His performance as the complex antagonist earned him the Gold Award for Best Actor in a Negative Role in 2016 and the Zee Rishtey Award for Favourite Dulara Dushman in 2015. ​
