Varun is coming up with Dharma Productions Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari on Dusshera. The day also marks Gandhi Jayanti. The makers of Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari are aiming for a massive opening day collection. 

Speaking at a recent conclave actor Varun Dhawan was asked about the box-office clash of Sunny Sanskari and Rishabh Shetty starrer Kantara: Chapter 1. For those who are unaware on October 2nd, 2025 Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari and Katara: Chapter 1 will lock horns. 

The makers of both the film are awaiting to encash huge collection on their opening day numbers respectively. Speaking about the same Varun said Honestly while setting the release date Dharma Productions who have been making films for so many years picked October 2. It's a huge date because it's both Dussehra and Gandhi Jayanti. So overall business expected on this day will be much bigger than a normal Friday. Almost ₹ 70 crore worth of business is available to be done in Hindi alone.

Talking about his love for Kantara Varun said obviously Kantara is a big film. The first one was amazing. I loved it myself. But our film is very different. I think there is more than enough space for all kinds of films. 

Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari is directed by Shashank Khaitaan. Varun has previously worked with Shashank on Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania and Badrinath Ki Dulhania. Varun will star opposite Janhavi Kapoor. 

The film also stars Sanya Malhotra, Rohit Sharaf, Akshya Oberoi and Maniesh Paul in pivotal roles. Shashank on the trailer launch of the film had clarified that Sunny Sanskari is not the third installment of his Dulhania franchise. 

On the work front, Varun has Bhushan Kumar's Border 2 set to release on Republic Day 2026. The film also stars Sunny Deol and Diljit Dosanjh. He also has Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai which is set to release in April 2026. And the actor is set to do a cameo in Ayushmann Khurrana starrer Thama as his character from Bhediya.
