Mannara Chopra’s Father Passes Away at 72: A Deep Personal Loss for the Chopra Family

Bigg Boss fame Mannara Chopra, cousin of Priyanka Chopra, is going through a tough time as she mourns the loss of her father, Raman Rai Handa, who passed away at the age of 72. The news was confirmed by the family on June 16, 2025, and has deeply saddened their close relatives and fans.

Mannara, known for her appearance in Bigg Boss 17 and her work in South Indian cinema, shared the unfortunate update via her Instagram story. In her message, she wrote, "With profound grief and sorrow, we inform you of the sad demise of our loving father, who left us for his heavenly abode on 16/06/2025. He was the pillar of strength for our family."

Raman Rai Handa was a respected advocate at the Delhi High Court and played a vital role in his family’s life, not just as a father but also as a guide and moral support. Mannara’s sister, Mitali Handa, is also part of the entertainment and lifestyle industry. The funeral is scheduled for June 18 at the Crematorium Ground in Amboli, Andheri West, Mumbai, at 1 PM. Mannara and her sister were seen arriving in Mumbai after the news broke.

The Chopra family, which includes popular names like Priyanka Chopra and Parineeti Chopra, is known to be close-knit. Though Priyanka and Parineeti haven’t posted publicly yet, their support is expected, especially given the tight bond the cousins share. Mannara has previously mentioned in interviews that all 14 of the Chopra cousins are part of a WhatsApp group and regularly keep in touch.

Mannara Chopra, born Barbie Handa, began her film career with the Telugu movie Prema Geema Jantha Nai and made her Bollywood debut with Zid in 2014. Over the years, she has appeared in multiple Telugu and Kannada films and recently made headlines for her stint in Bigg Boss 17. She is also part of the upcoming cooking-based reality show Laughter Chefs—Unlimited Entertainment Season 2 and is set to appear in the Punjabi film Ohi Chann Ohi Raatan. Raman Rai Handa is survived by his wife, Kamini Chopra Handa, and daughters Mannara and Mitali.
