Deepika Padukone in Shahrukh Khan's King after walking out from Kalki 2!

Actress Deepika Padukone is in the news for exiting from Nag Ashwin's Kalki 2 staring Prabhas in the lead role. According to Vyjayanthi Movies, the production house backing the film confirmed that the actress will no longer be part of the film.

The makers claimed in their official statement pointing the lack of commitment by the actress while saying a film like kalki 2898 deserves commitment and much more. And days after Deepika has confirmed being a part of her most favourite co-star. 

Yes, Deepika now will star opposite Shahrukh Khan in King which is directed by Sujoy Ghosh. Deepika posted a photo of her holding Shahrukh Khan's hand on her instagram handle. She wrote a caption which stated "The very first lesson he taught me almost 18 years ago while filming Om Shanti Om was that the experience of making a movie, and the people you make it with, matter far more than its success. I couldn't agree more and have applied that learning to every decision I've made since. And that's probably why we're backing making our 6th movie together (six)?" 

Sujoy Ghosh directed King other than Shahrukh and Deepika also stars Suhana Khan. The film also stars Abhishek Bachchan, Arshad Warsi, Raghav Juyal, Saurabh Shukla, Rani Mukerji, Jaideep Ahlawat, Anil Kapoor, Jackie Shroff and Abhay Verma in pivotal roles. 

The film marks big screen debut of Shahrukh Khan's princess and actress Suhana Khan. The film is expected to be a cool, classy and an emotional film. It reportedly centers arounds on a formidable don/gangster who serves as a mentor to a young woman, teaching her survival skills as they face a common adversary. The film is certainly set to release next year on Gandhi Jayanti. 

Talking about Deepika Padukone she made her debut with Om Shanti Om with Shahrukh Khan in 2007. The film was directed by Farah Khan. Since then they have appeared in 6 films together. They worked together in Chennai Express (2013), Happy New Year (2014), Pathan (2023) and Jawan (2023). Deepika also appeared in a song named 'Love Mera Hit Hit' in Shahrukh Khan's Billu. The film was released in 2009. 

On the work front, Shahrukh Khan will feature in Yash Raj Films Tiger Vs Pathaan, Pathaan 2, Jawan 2 and a Karan Johar directorial amongst others. Fans are awaiting the release of their favourite King Khan's films with bathed breathe. 

On the other hand, Deepika has Brahmastra 2, The Intern and Atlee's directorial starring Allu Arjun in the lead role. Deepika is currently enjoying her motherhood with Dua and husband and actor Ranveer Singh. She will soon resume her work post pregnancy.
