Director-Producer-Writer Karan Johar whose hat is full of all the feathers of skills and talent is one of the solid film personality. Without him any event, show, interviews film business, film parties, award shows, talk show, entertainment & business conclave, national level events etc related to entertainment cannot take place. 

He has worked in every capacity in the business of filmmaking for more than three decades and continues to flourish even more now in his 50 s' with more panache, great storytelling and complete relevancy. 

Started out with assisting his mentor friend and brother Aditya Chopra whose studio is like a temple of learning cinema for Karan has always expressed his utmost gratitude to him and Shahrukh who advised him to become a director and even starred in his debut film Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. 

Recently, the filmmaker spoke about stars on not reducing their remuneration after a film of their flops at the box-office.

During an interview to a Youtube channel he said No actor says My last two films did not work so here I am returning your money.’ No one is interested in returning money; they only take from you. Friendship has never benefited me in my professional life. Actors are good and lovely people at parties, but they all mean business. Even I am in the industry for business and not for charity.

He further spoke about Shahrukh Be it an actor I launched or a friend with whom I share a close bond. Except for Shah Rukh Khan. I feel strongly about him as a friend, a human being, collaborator and a brother. He is the only person who has never spoken about money with me or my father producer Yash Johar. He would say Whatever you want, send the paper, I will sign it.

He praised Shahrukh for his faith unto him and added When I approach him as a director, he won’t even listen to the script. I just have to go to him and say I am directing a movie and these are the dates I want. Money has never been a topic of discussion between us. My relationship with every other actor other than him, has been purely professional and I am fine with that.
 
Karan totally denied the existence of camps in Bollywood, a factor which has been spoken about since the inception of Indian film industry. He said We collaborate with everyone. Take any studio, for instance. Whether it’s Yash Raj Films (YRF), Maddock Films, Excel Entertainment, Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment, or T-Series, we all collaborate with each other. 

Karan concluded So where are these ‘camps’? My closest friend and the person with whom I share the strongest bond is Shah Rukh Khan. Yet, he and I have not collaborated in 15 years. Does that mean we are no longer friends or brothers. So where are these camps?

On the work front, Karan last sat on director's chair for Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani. The film starred Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh in lead roles. He is set to direct Takht his most desirable film to be made.
