Bobby Deol on heartbreak after being replaced by Jab We Met 

Actor Bobby Deol who is at the peak of his career and is starring in some of the biggest films backed up by the top production houses. Bobby recently opened up about Jab We Met as he was the first choice to play Aditya in the film. 

Directed my Imtiaz Ali Jab We Met has achieved the cult status for its performance, dialogues and story. He said he was the first one to have recognized Imtiaz's calibre in the film industry. 

For the film Bobby went to great lengths and asked producer to back the film and actresses to play the part of Geet. He said eventually the film got made without him who put in so much effort for the film. 

Bobby said at that time my heart was broken. I was not getting work I was doing films with certain directors which I was just doing them. They were typical bollywood films and there was this story that Imtiaz. 

He clarified he doesn't have anything against Imtiaz. I love the guy. I guess in that moment in his career he was also insecure and he had to make choices. But the thing happened in the most bad way. 

The actor saw the few rushes of Socha Na Tha which starred his cousin Abhay Deol. Impressed by his work he asked Bobby to write something for him. At that time he was approached by some other project by a producer. Bobby asked the producer to back Imtiaz. 

Bobby said I even suggested Kareena Kapoor Khan's name who first refused to do the film. After which they appeared Preity Zinta who took 6-7 months to refuse the film.

The Apne actor revealed it was the same producers who backed Jab We Met. It was Kareena only who played the part. And for Aditya Shahid got cast as the male lead opposite Kareena as her love interest. 

Bobby said I really tried hard to make the film. I reached out to a lot of people. It can be tough to make a film. I was really upset at that point of time. Bobby told at that time for Imtiaz and for the film's success the decision was necessary. 

On the work front, Bobby is currently getting all the applause and praise for his work as Ajay Talvar. He has powerfully portrayed the role of a superstar and showcased the stardom of the film industry.
