Akshay Kumar's Kesari Chapter 2: The Untold Story of Jallianwala Bagh premiered on April 18, 2025. What makes it more impactful is that it is a tribute and remembrance for all those who sacrificed their lives in the massacre that happened 106 years back on April 13, 1919.
The film is directed by Karan Singh Tyagi. Kesari Chapter 2 focuses on the untold story of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre.
The film features Akshay Kumar as Justice C. Sankaran Nair, R. Madhavan as British lawyer Neville McKinley, and Ananya Panday as advocate Dilreet Gill.
Why is it called Kesari 2?
Kesari Chapter 2 is a follow-up to Akshay Kumar's 2019 film Kesari and is based on the book The Case That Shook The Empire by Raghu Palat and Pushpa Palat. Though both films do not necessarily follow a continuing story, what links them is that they are connected on a spiritual and emotional level.

Special Screening
Ahead of its release, the film held a special screening in Delhi attended by political leaders and dignitaries. The screening totally expressed what Akshay's mindset is and how important this film is to him, and moreover, it shows how Akshay respects the sentiments that this film is based on when he requested the audience to avoid distractions like phone use to fully appreciate the film.
Kesari Chapter 2 is now playing in cinemas nationwide, offering audiences the chance to witness a patriotic and great tale.
