In New Delhi at Vigyan Bhawan country's one of the highest award in the world of entertainment and arts took place. This was the 71st National award which took place with the presence of many technicians and actors from the Indian film industry. 

The two of the most prominent award in the award category are the Best Actor and Best Actress award. Fans and film fraternity await the announcement and declaration of these two highest award. 

At the 71st National Film Award the winners for Best Actor and Best Actress was taken by Shahrukh Khan, Vikrant Massey and Rani Mukerji. For both Shaharukh and Rani it's their very first national award. 

Rani won the award for Mrs. Chatterjee vs Norway. Whereas, Shahrukh got the award for his 2023 film Jawan. However, Shahrukh shared the award with Vikrant Massey. Vikrant was felicitated the award for Vidhi Vinod Chopra's 12th Fail which brought the actor into the mainstream. 

Talking about Jawan the Atlee directorial film was a blockbuster. It's plot follows a special ops commando and his son, a prison warden, use their positions to become vigilantes, fighting against corrupt politicians and businessmen who have wronged them and the country, while a determined police officer hunts them down.

Jawan was the highest grossing film of 2023. It had a worldwide grossing of over ₹1148 crore surpassing other major blockbusters of the year like Pathaan and Animal. 

Mrs. Chatterjee vs Norway was an Ashima Chibber film. The story revolves around a devoted mother living in Norway has her two children taken away by the government because of how she raises them, which they see as wrong. The film follows her emotional and difficult journey to fight the system and get her kids back, showing the clash between her Indian culture and the rules of a foreign country.

On the work front, Shahrukh Khan has Tiger Vs Pathaan and Pathan 2 with Yash Raj Films. He also has Sujit Ghosh's King with her daughter Suhana Khan. The actor is also in talks with some of the big names in the industry for other projects as well. 

The Black fame actress Rani has Yash Raj Films Mardaani 3. The film is the third installment of the Mardaani franchise. It is directed by Abhiraj Minawala. In the film Rani Mukerji will reprise her role as the fearless and relentless police officer Shivani Shivaji Roy. The film is slated to release on February 27, 2026.
