Aneet Padda reportedly set for Dinesh Vijan's 'Shakti Shalini!'
Yash Raj Films Saiyaara which earned the title of the highest grossing romantic film of Indian cinema with ₹581 crores become the launch pad for lead actor Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda. The film received all the love and blessings from audiences and their return to the cinemas to witness their hard work on the silver screen.
Now, according to a news outlet Aneet has signed a film with Dinesh Vijan's production house Maddock Films for its biggest horror comedy franchise. She has signed 'Shakti Shalini' a film which will ride on her shoulder as the lead. However, the makers are yet to announce the film.
The sources close to the film have revealed that Dinesh wanted a fresh face to introduce in his horror comedy universe. After watching Aneet's performance he really liked her and wanted to cast her. Aneet was in discussion for the film for the last two months. He decided to mount the next chapter of horror comedy on her.
Apart from Aneet, there were other contenders to feature as the lead in this horror comedy universe. The film is aiming to go on floors at the end of 2025. However, one of the two directors will helm the project. One is Munjya fame Aditya Sarpotdar. Dinesh is keen to bring him on board to direct this one as well.
Tabbar fame Ajitpal Singh is also in the list to direct the film with Aneet in the lead. Talking about the horror comedy universe Dinesh is all set to grab audiences pockets with his upcoming Thama. The film features Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandana in the lead. The film will release on Diwali this year. Shakti will follow Thama.
Thama is reportedly a romantic horror comedy about a historian who uncovers an immortal bloody love story of vampires rooted in the ancient Vijayanagara Empire, serving as the first love story in the Maddock supernatural universe.
Dinesh also has Chamunda with Alia Bhatt. The film is expected to start in May 2026 after the actress completes her part in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Love And War. She features alongside her husband and actor Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal.
The makers are aiming to release the film in March next year. Love And War is an epic love triangle set against a wartime backdrop, focusing on a dramatic conflict between two strong willed military officers Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal for the affection of one woman Alia Bhatt.
