Malayalam actor Ravi Kumar Menon, known for his roles and impact on Tamil and Malayalam cinema and television, passed away at the age of 50 due to cancer.
As per reports, the news of his demise was confirmed by his son, and he reportedly took his last breath at the Prashanth Hospital in Velachery, Chennai.
He was born in Thiruvananthapuram, born to KMK Menon and R. Bharathi. and made his debut in 1975 with the Malayalam movie ‘Ullasa Yaathra.’
Career Highlights
That was just the start of his stardom.
Soon he worked in several hit movies like Avargal, CBI 5: The Brain, Puzha, Sakthi, Angadi, Ivar, Aanandam Paramaanandam, Ninakku Njaanum Enikku Neeyum, Orikkalkkoodi, Ankachamayam, Ee Manoharatheeram, Allauddinum Albhutha Vilakkum, Agrahaaram, and more, and became a known name amongst his contemporaries. It was his journey.
To mention, his final appearances in the entertainment industry were in Malayalam cinema: Aarattu, starring Mohanlal, and CBI 5: The Brain, starring Mammootty.
Moreover, he acted in more than 100 Malayalam and Tamil films during the 1970s and 1980s.
According to media reports, Ravi Kumar Menon had been battling cancer for some time.
Despite undergoing treatment, his health deteriorated in the past few months.
He passed away on April 4, 2025, at a private hospital in Chennai on Friday around 9 am.
His contemporaries and fans have expressed their condolences and remembrance of Kumar through their respective social media.
Ravikumar's legacy and inspiring journey, and his everlasting mark on Malayalam and Tamil cinema, will always be remembered.
